First Academic program of this year 2020 started by USI mock exams (South zone) at Stanley Medical College, Chennai on 2nd and 3rd March.
One hundred and forty students doing Mch and DNB Urology from different part of countries participated in this program. Fifteen cases of different sections of Urology-Uro-oncology, Stones, Infections, Reconstructive urology, Female urology, were discussed over one and half days. Guest talks on Diuretic Renogram, PET scan and Imaging in Renal and Adrenal mass were given by Local Faculty.
Students divided in three groups discussed cases with Faculty. Event was inaugurated by Dr P Balaji, Dean Stanley Medical College and Dr Rajeev TP, Hon Sec USI. Dean Dr P Balaji, thanked USI for giving Stanley Medical College an opportunity to hold its first national level academic activity un their centre. Dr Rajeev TP, Hon Sec USI in his address urged to students to make maximum use of this academic program to further their knowledge before Exams and have maximum interact with Faculty. He also apprised them of different educational program being held under USI. Dr Arun Chawla, encouraged students to hone their communication skills and clear their doubts in their run up to exit exam preparations. Dr Prakash JVS in his vote of thanks, acknowledged USI, Faculty for being a part of this program.
Faculty for this program included Drs Suresh Bhat, PVLN Murthy, Deka P, Dey R, Arun Chawla, Pranjal Modi, Anoop Kumar, Joseph Philip Raj, Sabnis R, Sarvanan, Shivshankar, AR Balaji. Feedback from students was very positive and students appreciated discussion of all important cases over two days, not discussing much theory and providing them direction and confidence towards final preparations of Examinations. Students wished to include more of operative urology also in the program.
